Yes, installing third party apps on the Zune HD is available. Using the XNA studio application by microsoft, along with C Studio 2008 and Zune HD extensions, you are able to connect XNA studio and install applications made on XNA to the Zune HD. The result? Very Similar to the "Installer" application on hacked Iphone and Ipod Touch's back in 2007. This means that the Zune HD is going to be seeing that 75,000 app store mark pretty soon, especially since some games on the iphone are now being ported to the Zune HD. Some of the arguments made against the Zune HD is that it doesn't have an app store, but guess what, now it kinda does?
Visit zhdapps.com for more details on how to install applications and games to the Zune HD, I will be posting videos made by the team who discovered this pretty soon.
